Yemen’s Houthis report 3 more US-UK airstrikes on Al Hudaydah
-Attacks target As-Salif directorate in Al Hudaydah, according to Houthi-run media
SANAA, Yemen
The US and Britain launched three airstrikes against Houthi sites in Yemen on Wednesday, the Yemeni group said.
The attacks targeted As-Salif directorate in the western Al Hudaydah province, the Houthi-run Al-Masirah television reported.
No details were yet available about casualties or damage.
There was no immediate comment from the US or Britain on the report.
Al Hudaydah is a major Yemeni province with three important ports and a long coastline.
Since the beginning of 2024, a coalition led by the US has been conducting airstrikes that it said are targeting Houthi locations in parts of Yemen in response to attacks by the group in the Red Sea. The counterattacks have been occasionally met with retaliation from the group.
In solidarity with Gaza, which is facing a devastating Israeli offensive that has killed over 40,200 people, the Houthis have targeted Israeli cargo ships or those associated with Tel Aviv in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, expressing determination to continue operations until the end of the onslaught on the enclave.
With the intervention of Washington and London and an escalation of tensions, the Houthis announced that they now consider all American and British ships as military targets.
