BAGHDAD
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has received his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper Saturday in Baghdad, according to a written statement released on the Iraqi PM’s official website.
They discussed the Iraqi struggle against Daesh as well as international aid for Iraq in the fight against terrorism, according to the statement.
Al-Abadi stressed that Daesh was getting weaker and that Iraqi forces had defeated it in many cities.
Iraqi and Canadian defense ministers also attended the meeting.
