DAMASCUS
A spokesperson for the Syrian Local Coordination Committees, Omar Idlibi said that clashes resumed at the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus where a large number of Palestinians live.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Idlibi indicated that the Syrian regime violated an agreement that was reached with the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
"As part of the agreement, the Syrian regime had to withdraw its forces from the camp. Instead the Syrian regime brought back its forces and placed them around the camp. In reaction, the FSA entered the camp to defend itself," Idlibi stated.
"Only a handful of people returned to their homes after the clashes resumed. A great portion of those who left are now living in surrounding districts or in Lebanon," Idlibi also said.
