PRISTINA, Kosovo
Kosovo has announced it has imposed sanctions against Russia, following in the footsteps of the EU and U.S. over Russian actions in eastern Ukraine.
Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj was quoted by Serbian B92 television as saying the decision came as a “sign of solidarity with countries of the European Union, the U.S. and other states that had imposed sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine.”
Although the sanctions were announced with immediate effect on Wednesday, the government did not specify the nature of the measures.
Among the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West are visa bans, asset freezes and restrictions on the energy and arms sectors.
