CAIRO
Arab League's Deputy Secretary General Ahmed ben Helli has said that NATO's intervention in Syria was highly unlikely.
Efforts are under way for a political solution, Helli told reporters on Tuesday after he met a NATO delegation in Cairo.
Noting that they discussed Syria issue and regional developments, cooperation in fight against terrorism and efforts to purify Middle East from weapons of mass destruction, Helli said that they took up Syria issue in political aspect rather than military.
Arab League is exerting very much effort in order to end the crisis in Syria, said Helli, adding that the League was trying to unite opponent groups and provide humanitarian aid to Syrians.
