JERUSALEM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted an invitation to address the United States Congress on the dangers Iran and Islamic extremists poses to US security, Netanyahu's office has said.
Israel Radio quoted the office as saying that Netanyahu had received an invitation in this regard from House Speaker John Boehner.
It said that Netanyahu would deliver the speech at the US Congress on February 11.
The office said Netanyahu was asked to address Congress on the dangers posed to US security by radical Islam and Iran's nuclear ambitions.
It added that Netanyahu would also seek to meet with US President Barack Obama during his visit to the US.
Netanyahu will deliver his speech at the US Congress only five weeks before his country holds snap election on March 17.
The invitation to the Israeli PM also comes only one day after Obama vowed in his State of the Union speech to veto any bill that would place additional sanctions on Iran against the background of its nuclear program.
