UK annual party conferences begin

LONDON

The economic situation of the UK is expected to be discussed during this year's annual party conferences, which are held across the UK every autumn.

British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, the leader of the partner in the coalition government - the Liberal Democrats (Lib Dem), kicked off the party's annual conference in Glasgow on Saturday, while leader of the opposition Labour Party Ed Miliband will be holding his party's annual conference in Brighton between September 22-26. Meanwhile, Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party David Cameron will be attending his party's annual conference in Manchester between September 29 and October 2.

Unemployment rates and the economic situation of the UK will likely be the main debate topics of the annual meetings in which many other topics are to be discussed. Political party leaders consider the conferences an opportunity to freshen up the trust of the public and their parties.

The next United Kingdom general elections will be held in May 2015
