The exit poll after U.K. general elections predicts a hung parliament with the Conservative party leading with 316 seats, only ten short of a majority.
According to the survey taken at polling stations, Labour follows with 239 seats and separatist Scottish National Party has 58.
The first two seats have been announced as incumbent Labour MPs Bridget Phillipson and Julie Elliott in Sunderland.
Nearly 42 million people in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland cast their ballots until 22.00 local time.
The exit polls was published by the BBC, ITV and Sky. It shows David Cameron-led Conservative Party winning 316 seats, Ed Miliband-led Labor 239, the separatist Scottish National Party (SNP) 58, the Liberal Democratic Party 10, and the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) 2.
The total number of parliamentary seats being contested are 650, with 533 constituencies in England, 59 in Scotland, 40 in Wales and 18 in Northern Ireland.
More than 9,000 council seats are also being contested across 279 English local administrations.
After the 2010 election, a coalition government was formed by the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.
The final results are expected to be announced on Friday afternoon.
