United Airlines began mutual flights between Istanbul and New York.
The company's first plane departed from New York and arrived in Istanbul's Ataturk Airport on Monday.
The plane was carrying 178 passengers.
United Airlines' Deputy Director James Mueller said that they were very pleased to add Istanbul in their global flight network, adding that passengers, flying from Turkey, would be given faster and easier flight opportunities from Newark Liberty Airport to many points of the United States.
Flights will be held five times a week.
