The new government of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah on Thursday won a confidence vote in Yemen's House of Representatives (lower house of parliament).
"Parliament has voted unanimously to give confidence to the government," lawmaker Abdu al-Huzayfi told The Anadolu Agency.
The new government was sworn in on November 9 in hopes of ending the fractious country's ongoing political crisis.
Yemen has recently appeared on the verge of civil war, with the Shiite Houthi militant group seeking to expand its influence beyond capital Sanaa – which it took over in late September – to other parts of the country.
Yemen has been in turmoil since a popular uprising in 2011 ended the 33-year rule of autocratic president Ali Abdullah Saleh one year later.
