The Danish army on Friday announced that 10 out of the 100 Leopard 1 tanks donated by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Germany arrived in Ukraine.

"10 Leopard 1 tanks are already in Ukraine and more are on the way," said the Danish Armed Forces in a statement.

It said the training takes place in Germany, where Danish tank instructors collaborate with their German counterparts to train crews and donate tanks to Ukraine.

Arpe Nielsen, a Danish army commander, expressed confidence in the support, saying, "I have no doubt that it will help them win the war" against Russia.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, Danish support for Ukraine amounted to €1.5 billion ($1.61 billion) in military support and some 336 million in civilian contributions, according to the country’s foreign ministry.

Denmark has allocated an additional Krone 22 billion ($ 2.6 billion) for military support in the Danish National Ukraine Fund. The majority of the funds will be available in 2023 and 2024.
