Russia sanctions 48 Australian nationals in retaliatory move
Foreign Ministry closes entry to defense industry contractors, journalists, local officials for anti-Russian positions
MOSCOW
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday it blacklisted 48 Australian nationals in response to "politically motivated sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities by the Australian government."
The ministry said it banned entry to Russia for defense industry contractors, journalists and local officials.
It also said as Canberra continues to impose sanctions on Russia, Moscow will also work on its blacklist.
