Russia’s Defense Ministry announced Thursday that 28 military infrastructure facilities belonging to Ukraine were destroyed in airstrikes during the day.
Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov in a statement shared information about the actions of the Russian army amid the war in Ukraine.
Konashenkov said that since the beginning of the war, a total of 124 aircraft and 80 helicopters, 345 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 1,826 tanks and various armored vehicles, 195 multi-barrel rocket launchers, 766 howitzers and mortars, and 1,704 private military vehicles have been destroyed.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which started on Feb. 24, has been met with international outrage, with the European Union, US and UK among others implementing tough financial sanctions on Moscow.
At least 1,232 civilians have been killed in Ukraine and 1,935 injured, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be far higher.
More than 4 million Ukrainians have also fled to neighboring countries, with millions more displaced inside the country, according to the UN refugee agency.
