Top Ukrainian intelligence officer found dead at home

A top Ukrainian intelligence officer was found dead in his home over the weekend, according to local media.
Oleksandr Nakonechny, the head of Ukraine’s SBU intelligence services in the Kirovograd region, was found dead by his wife late Saturday with gunshot wounds in a room of their apartment in the city of Kropyvnytsky.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office confirmed Nakonechny’s death and police launched an investigation into the incident.
A local politician, Andrii Lavrus, wrote on Telegram that Nakonechny had shot himself.
The claim was not confirmed by the authorities.
