Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled healthcare systems will help medical professionals make more accurate diagnoses, manage treatment processes more effectively, and improve patient care, according to Dr. Zekeriya Kokrek, a psychiatrist and lecturer in psychology at Istanbul Commerce University.

"AI enables early diagnosis of critical diseases such as cancer, increasing the chances of treatment and improving survival rates," he told Anadolu.

AI-powered systems will be able to monitor patients' conditions and support applications such as medication reminders with accessibility through technologies such as virtual assistants or chatbots, he said.

"I believe that the advantageous accessibility will be a great convenience for healthcare professionals," he stressed.

But Kokrek also warned that AI technology poses risks and urged that they be minimized by shaping new systems on the basis of ethical and social responsibility principles.

"In the future, we are likely to see more innovations and developments in the use of AI technology in the healthcare sector," he said.
