PARIS

The personal data of 1.3 million customers of mobile phone giant, Orange, has been stolen in what is the second hack of the company's servers this year.

“We found an illegitimate access to an email and SMS-sending platform” that is used in our marketing campaigns, the company said in a message posted on its website.

As a result “a limited amount of personal data” has fallen into the hands of hackers, but bank details are uncompromised ,Orange added.

The mobile phone giant was hacked on April 18, but only identified the people affected by May 5.

The stolen data includes names, email addresses, mobile and landline numbers. 

Back in February around 800,000 Orange customers had their emails, passwords, addresses and phone numbers stolen from its customer website,.

Orange said it will inform affected clients via email Monday.
