1st legs of UEFA Nations League playoffs and quarterfinals conclude
Türkiye secures 3-1 victory over Hungary in A/B playoff opener

The first legs of the UEFA Nations League playoffs and quarterfinals for the 2024-2025 season have concluded.
A total of eight matches were played in the playoff stage along with four encounters in the quarterfinals.
Competing for promotion to League A, Türkiye’s national football team claimed a 3-1 victory over Hungary in the A/B playoff first leg, securing an advantage ahead of the return fixture.
The decisive second-leg matches, scheduled for March 23, will determine which teams earn promotion to League A, while the losing sides will remain in League B.
Similarly, in the B/C playoffs, winners will advance to League B, while the defeated teams will continue in League C.

The winner of the Netherlands-Spain tie will join Türkiye, Georgia and Bulgaria in Group E of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers.
The quarterfinal return legs, set for March 23, will determine the four teams advancing to the UEFA Nations League Finals in June 2025, where they will compete for the title.
