2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers' draw to be held on Aug. 31
32 competitors including Turkish National Basketball Team to enter European qualifiers; 12 berths allocated for 2023 World Cup

The draw for the 2023 FIBA World Cup European qualification will be held on Aug. 31, the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) announced Thursday.
In a statement, TBF said that 32 teams including Turkey will enter the draw and the pots will be announced later.
FIBA Europe was allocated 12 berths for the 2023 World Cup to be hosted by three nations; the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.
The 32 teams are Turkey, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine, Belarus, Iceland, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Slovakia, and Sweden.
The games will start this Nov. 22 and run through Feb. 28, 2023.
The 2023 World Cup will be held next August-September.
Spain are the reigning World Cup champions.
