English Premier League leaders Arsenal reinforced their offense with Belgian winger Leandro Trossard on Friday.
"Belgium international Leandro Trossard has joined us from Brighton & Hove Albion on a long-term contract," Arsenal said.
The London club's manager Mikel Arteta welcomed Trossard and said he looks forward to working with the 28-year-old player.
"It is good work from everyone at the club to complete the signing of Leandro. He is a versatile player with high technical ability, intelligence and a great deal of experience in the Premier League and at international level.
"Leandro strengthens our squad as we head into the second part of the season and we're all looking forward to working with him. We welcome Leandro and his family to Arsenal Football Club," Arteta said.
Trossard said that he is excited to play in front of Arsenal fans.
"This is a big club and I'm ready to show the fans what I can do.
"I'm really excited to see the fans in the stadium. I hope I can give you my all. I want to try and create as many magic moments as possible, and hopefully we can celebrate together," the Belgian international said in his first interview as a Gunner.
In June 2019, English club Brighton & Hove Albion signed Trossard.
He scored 25 goals and produced 14 assists in 121 matches for the Seagulls.
Trossard was a Belgium player in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and he amassed 24 appearances for his nation.
