Bayern Munich have gone through to the semi final in the German Cup after eliminating Bayer Leverkusen 5-3 on penalties in the quarter final match at BayArena on Wednesday night.
Bayern Munich's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski found the net with a header in the 58th minute, but the goal was disallowed by referee Felix Zwayer as Lewandowski pushed Bayer Leverkusen's Turkish attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
The game went to extra time as neither team managed to break the deadlock.
The winner of the round had to be decided by penalties after extra time ended 0-0, and Bayern Munich advanced to the semis in the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) by eliminating Bayer Leverkusen 5-3.
Bayern Munich are paired with rivals Borussia Dortmund in the semi finals while Wolfsburg will meet Arminia Bielefeld.
