Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said on Wednesday that he has undergone multiple skin cancer surgeries.
Neuer, 36, said in a video that he had three operations for skin cancer.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner has advertised a new skincare product with German tennis player Angelique Kerber, who won three Grand Slam titles in women's singles.
"We both have a very personal history of skin diseases. In Angelique's case it's sun-related hyperpigmentation, and in my case it's skin cancer on my face, which I've already had to have operated on three times,” Neuer said.
Bayern Munich regular Neuer has been suffering from a shoulder injury before the 2022 FIFA World Cup that will begin on Nov. 20 in Qatar.
Diagnosed with an acromioclavicular joint injury, the German player missed several matches in October.
Neuer amassed 113 caps for Germany and appeared in the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cup tournaments.
