Besiktas got the morale-boosting win to stop their weak performance after beating Athletic Club 4-1 in UEFA Europa League matchday seven on Wednesday.

Besiktas opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Milot Rashica found the net with a close-range finish, assisted by Rafa Silva, at the Besiktas Tupras Stadium.

However, Athletic Club equalized just before halftime, with Unai Gomez scoring from inside the penalty area in the 45th minute.

The Turkish club regained the lead as Rashica scored his second goal in the 60th minute, with Rafa Silva providing his second assist.

Rafa Silva extended the lead to 3-1 in the 78th minute.

In the 90th minute, Javi Serrano conceded a penalty for a foul on Semih Kilicsoy, and Joao Mario converted from the spot to seal the victory.

Besiktas are 18th with nine points and Athletic Club are second with 16 points after seven games.
