Dominican Republic win 4x400 mixed relay at World Athletics Champs
With bronze, American runner Allyson Felix becomes only athlete to win 19 World medals
ISTANBUL
Dominican Republic clinched a gold medal in the 4x400 mixed relay at the World Athletics Championships on Saturday.
The Dominican team, which consists of Lidio Andres Feliz, Marileidy Paulino, Alexander Ogando, and Fiordaliza Cofil, cruised to victory in a time of 3:09:82.
The Dutch side came second with a time of 3:09:90 while the US team finished in third place (3:10:16) at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
The 36-year-old American runner Allyson Felix, became the only athlete to win 19 World medals (13 golds, 3 silvers, 3 bronzes) after winning bronze on Saturday.
Meanwhile, it was Dominican Republic’s third gold medal in World Championships history.
