Borussia Dortmund appointed Edin Terzic as head coach on a three-year deal, the German football side confirmed on Monday.

"By now, many people are likely to be aware of the special importance BVB holds in my life. I'd therefore like to express my sincere thanks to Aki Watzke, Michael Zorc, and Sebastian Kehl for the great trust they have placed in me and for giving me this great responsibility," Terzic said in a statement.

"We will do everything in our power every day to make the team and the entire club successful," he added.

The 39-year-old guided the Black and Yellow club to the DFB-Pokal while in interim charge during the 2020-21 season.

Terzic, who will replace Marco Rose, will ink a deal on Tuesday until the end of June 2025.

Borussia Dortmund on Friday parted ways with the 45-year-old Rose after a season in charge.
