Football: Juventus remain atop Serie A

ANKARA

Italian club Juventus continue to top the Serie A standings with 26 points after defeating Genoa at Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri (black-and-whites) beat Genoa 2-1, marking their fifth consecutive win at home.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci scored the opening goal in the 36th minute and the winning goal came in the 96th minute in stoppage time courtesy of Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Second-placed Inter Milan defeated Brescia at Stadio Mario Rigamonti as with goals from Argentine player Lautaro Martinez and Belgian Romelu Lukaku.

Atalanta were held to a 2-2 draw at the San Paolo stadium in Naples.

Roma trounced Udinese 4-0 in an away game with Turkish international Mert Cetin replacing Argentine midfielder Javier Pastore in the 70th minute.

Leaders Juventus have 26 points, followed by Inter with 25 points and Atalanta with 21 points.

In Thursday's match, the 10th week of Serie A closed with Milan defeating SPAL 1-0, with the goal coming from Spanish forward Suso.
