English football club Leicester City made an impressive start to the Premier League this season, sitting in third place in the table with 20 points and a nine-goal triumph for the record books.

Leicester earned six wins in the Premier League, plus two draws and two losses at the end of week 10.

This season, Liverpool are leading with 28 points. Manchester City are currently in second spot with 22 points in 10 league matches.

The Foxes are now ahead of several Premier League giants such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United in the table, despite the squad market value for each of these top clubs being higher than Leicester's.

The East Midlands team are still unbeaten at home with four wins and one draw in five matches.

Leicester also moved into the quarterfinals in the League Cup -- the Carabao Cup -- after eliminating Newcastle United, Luton Town, and Burton Albion.

Turkish defender Caglar steps into Maguire's shoes

Leicester lost a vital part of their squad this summer before the 2019-2020 season after English international Harry Maguire joined Manchester United.

Maguire became the most expensive English player following his move to United for a reported £80 million ($103 million).

Leicester didn't sign any players to replace Maguire, but Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu's impressive performance so far has proven that Leicester fans needn't worry about Maguire's exit.

In his second season with Leicester, Soyuncu not only replaced Maguire successfully with excellent form but also became a fans favorite with his ambitious character on the pitch.

The 23-year old Turkish international has reportedly attracted interest from other English clubs, including reigning champions Manchester City.

Dream comes true in 2016

Leicester City went down in English football history and amazed the global football community when they managed to win the English Premier League title in the 2015-2016 season.

The East Midlands club claimed their first-ever league title that season, which was a miraculous achievement for a modest club.

Leicester were not the favorites to be Premier League champions as they narrowly avoided relegation in May 2015. They had been 5,000/1 outsiders to lift the Premier League trophy in August 2015.

New signings satisfy Leicester fans

The 2016 Premier League champions spent over €90 million ($100 million) for new signings in the summer transfer window after taking ninth place in the standings last season.

New transfers Ayoze Perez and Youri Tielemans met fans' expectations in their new club. Spanish forward Perez has scored three goals and Belgium midfielder Tielemans has produced three goals and two assists in the league so far.

In addition to new players' contributions, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy also shone with their flawless start to the league.

English forward Vardy is currently the top scorer in the Premier League with nine goals, while his compatriot Maddison produced three goals and two assists.

Emphatic win equals Man U record

Manager Brendan Rodgers' players not only impressed Leicester fans with their good form in the Premier League but also by making their way into the record books of English football in the 10th match of this season.

The hammering of Southampton 9-0 in an away match at St. Mary's stadium on Oct. 25 meant Leicester City equaled Manchester United's biggest-ever Premier League win in history.

With this extravagant win, Leicester set the biggest away win record in the Premier League.

They are now eyeing the Premier League title to bring the top-tier English trophy back to the city a second time.
