Spanish football giants Real Madrid thrashed their opponents Rayo Vallecano 10-2 in Madrid derby in the country's top football division La Liga on Sunday.

"Los Blancos" (The Whites) were rampant against Rayo Vallecano at their home ground, Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Real Madrid's Welsh star Gareth Bale scored four goals for the first time for his team.

Madrid team's French striker Karim Benzema made a hat-trick, while his teammate, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, put the ball into the net twice and Brazilian right-back Danilo scored an early goal for Real Madrid.

Visitors Rayo Vallecano came back in 12’ after the goals scored by Amaya and Jozabed. However, they could not maintain the 2-1 lead.

Rayo Vallecano played with nine men as two players, Tito and Raul Baena, were sent off in first half.

Coming up with a historical win for the books, Real Madrid are in third spot with 33 points in La Liga standings whilst Rayo Vallecano are in 18th position -- in the relegation zone -- with 14 points.

Real Madrid recently traumatized Swedish team Malmo 8-0 in UEFA Champions League Group A match in Madrid on Dec. 8.
