Hasan Arat elected new president of Besiktas
64-year-old businessman beats second-placed Serdal Adali to become 35th president of Istanbul club
ISTANBUL
Hasan Arat was elected as the new president of Besiktas at an extraordinary general assembly meeting on Sunday.
The 64-year-old businessman won with 7,271 votes, receiving 2,714 more than second-placed Serdal Adali at the BJK Emlakjet Sports Complex in Istanbul.
Arat has become the 35th president of the Istanbul club.
With 100% of the votes counted, Adali took 38.53% of the vote.
