Defending Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan were held to a 1-1 home draw with league leaders Napoli on Sunday.
Napoli's Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay scored the opening goal at Milan’s San Siro stadium after 23 minutes.
But Inter's Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu scored a stunning goal from long range near the end of the first half to equalize.
Inter were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute but Calhanoglu, who took a powerful penalty kick, hit the goal post. It was the first time that the 30-year-old missed his penalty for Inter.
The Turkish international has been an Inter regular since 2021 and scored 19 penalty kicks for his club.
The points were shared after the final whistle.
Napoli still top the Serie A table with 26 points in 12 games. Inter are fourth with 25 points.
Italy is seeing a relentless title race as second-place Atalanta, third-place Fiorentina and fifth-place Lazio also have 25 points each.
Juventus are in the sixth spot with 24 points.
