Lazio earned a decisive 3-1 win against Real Sociedad at Stadio Olimpico on Thursday, guaranteeing their place in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.

Mario Gila scored the opening goal in the 5th minute, firing into the top corner after capitalizing on a loose ball in the penalty area.

In the 30th minute, Aihen Munoz of Real Sociedad received a second yellow card, leaving his team with 10 players.

Lazio extended their lead in the 32nd minute when Mattia Zaccagni converted a cutback from Gustav Isaksen. Two minutes later, Valentin Castellanos added another goal with a header from Nuno Tavares’ cross.

Ander Barrenetxea scored for Real Sociedad in the 82nd minute, finding the net from close range.

The victory solidifies Lazio’s spot in the last 16 of the Europa League, reaching 19 points and securing direct qualification for the Round of 16. Real Sociedad, on the other hand, remain at 10 points.
