Brazilian star Neymar Jr. will miss the 2024 Copa America, the national team doctor said.
"There won't be time, it's too early. There's no point in trying to skip steps to recover him a month earlier, taking unnecessary risks," Rodrigo Lasmar told the Brazilian press.
Neymar, 31, has been suffering from anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear injury in his knee since October.
Brazil will face Colombia, Paraguay and either Costa Rica or Honduras in Group D of 2024 Copa America, which will be held in the US.
