Red Bull's Verstappen wins F1 Japanese Grand Prix
Max Verstappen stays in lead with 400 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez
ISTANBUL
Red Bull's Dutch driver Max Verstappen on Sunday won the Japanese Grand Prix, round 17 of the 2023 Formula 1 season.
Verstappen completed the 53-lap race in one hour, 30 minutes, and 58 seconds at the 5.8-kilometer (3.6-mile) Suzuka International Racing Course.
With this win, Red Bull Racing took the constructors' title.
"It's an unbelievable weekend," said Verstappen after the victory. "To win here was great. I think the car was working really well on every (tire) compound."
McLaren's Lando Norris came in second while Oscar Piastri finished in third place.
The round 18 race, the Qatar Grand Prix, will be held at Lusail International Circuit on Oct. 8.
