Reigning champions Panathinaikos lose 94-89 to Olympiacos in EuroLeague's Greek derby

ANKARA 

Reigning champions Panathinaikos lost 94-89 on Friday to Olympiacos Piraeus in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague round 8 Greek derby.

Olympiacos took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back at Athens' Oaka Altion.

Olympiacos’ French forward Evan Fournier led all scorers with 22 points, while US guard Kendrick Nunn had 20 points for Panathinaikos.

Olympiacos leap-frogged Panathinaikos in the standings and is in fifth place at 5 - 3. Panathinaikos is in the sixth spot with a points difference.

Barcelona hammer Baskonia 91-68 in Spanish derby

A Spanish derby between Barcelona and Baskonia Vitoria-Gastei, saw Barca hammer Baskonia 91-68 on Friday.

Czech center Jan Vesely led the hosts to the win with 17 points, while Baskonia's top scorer was US guard Trent Forrest with 17 points at Barcelona's Palau Blaugrana.

Barcelona took the top spot in the standings with a 6 - 2 record, while Baskonia are in the 11th spot at 4 - 4.
