Ricky Rubio announced Thursday that he will leave the NBA.
"I wanted to post this message for you today because my NBA career has come to an end," the Spanish basketballer wrote on social media.
Rubio, 33, said he is still working on his mental health and may one day share his experiences to support others going through similar situations.
He thanked fans for their support and his former NBA teams, the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Rubio announced last summer that he was taking a break from basketball due to mental problems.
He won the 2010 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Barcelona before heading to the NBA where he averaged 10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 698 games.
