Samuel Eto'o elected head of Cameroon Football Association
40-year-old legend will run football affairs in Cameroon for next 4 years
ISTANBUL
Former Barcelona and Chelsea legend Samuel Eto'o was elected the president of the Cameroon Football Federation on Saturday.
"I'll be remembering today as one of the proudest moments of my life. I'm deeply grateful to be elected as the new president of@FecafootOfficie," Eto'o tweeted.
"Every vote represents the energy and ambition of our football family to take our beloved sport to a level we've never seen before," He added.
Eto'o will run Cameroonian football for the next four years.
During his football career, Eto'o made appearances for many European clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Everton, and Inter Milan.
He lifted four Champions League titles with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter.
Cameroonian star also played for Antalyaspor and Konyaspor from 2015 to 2018 in Turkey and he lastly played for Qatar Sports Club in Qatar.
The 40-year-old legend was a part of the Cameroon squad during the 2002, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
Eto'o also made 118 appearances for Cameroon, scoring 56 goals for his country.
Eto'o produced 360 goals and 117 assists in 720 matches throughout his club career.
