Team USA beat Australia 79-55 to reach the women's basketball semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday.

Breanna Stewart was the highest scorer of the game with 23 points, while Brittney Griner added 15 points to lead their team to victory.

Leilani Mitchell played with 14 points and Cayla George scored 11 for the losing side at the Saitama Super Arena.

In the semifinals, the US will face Serbia, which defeated China 77-70 in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Japan defeated Belgium 86-85 in a hard-fought quarterfinal clash, moving to the semifinals.
