ANKARA (AA) - Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday announced the world standing for October, declaring Spain first, Germany second and Argentina third.
According to the standing announced in FIFA's web page, Spain preserved first place with 1513 points, Germany was placed 2nd, rising one rank with 1311 points, and Argentina ranked 3rd by decreasing one position with 1266 points.
Turkey ranked 40th by rising nine ranks in October.
The Netherlands, one of the rivals of Turkey in World Cup European Qualifiying Group D, ranked 8th with 1136 points while Switzerland increased their score to 1138 and ranked 7th.
Costa Rica (31), Algeria (32), Honduras (34), Panama (36), Venezuela (37) and Armenia (39) outpaced Turkey.
The world standing determines the teams to be the seed in World Cup 2014 groups.
According to the standings, Brazil (host), Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, and Switzerland gained to become the seeding for the ballot that will be on October 6 for World Cup Brazil 2014. The remaining one place will be determined after Uruguay's match against Jordan. If Uruguay eliminates Jordan, they will be the 8th team to be seed in groups, otherwise the Netherlands will be the final seeding team in World Cup 2014.
