Turkish taekwondo athlete crowned world champion
Tazegul wins back-to-back world titles in men's 68 kg division, as Nur Tatar wins silver in women's 67 kg category.
ANKARA
Turkish taekwondo athlete Servet Tazegul won a gold medal in World Taekwondo Championship held in Russian city Chelyabinsk on Friday, his second in a row.
2012 Summer Olympics winner Tazegul, competing in men’s 68-kilogram division, beat Russian Alexey Denisenko 10-7 in the final and became champion for the second time following his victory 2011.
Meanwhile in women's category, Turkish athlete Nur Tatar lost against Taiwanese Chia-Chia Chuang in the final and won the silver medal in the 67 kg division.
Furkan Asena Aydin (women's 73 kg), Serdar Yuksel (men's 87 kg) and Ali Sari (men's 87+ kg) will face their opponents on Saturday's daytime session.
