Turkish women's volleyball team beat Italy 3-1 in Mediterranean Games

ANKARA

The Turkish women's national volleyball team toppled Italy 3-1 in a 2022 Mediterranean Games match Monday in Algeria to carry on their lead in Pool C.

Türkiye won the Pool C match with sets of 26-24, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-21 at Salle Bir El Djir in the city of Oran.

Ilkin Aydin led Türkiye to victory, scoring 21 points.

Italy lost even though their player Binto Diop was the match’s highest scorer with 23 points.

In the third match, Türkiye will play against Spain on Tuesday to conclude the preliminary phase of the games.

Türkiye previously beat hosts Algeria 3-0 on Sunday.
