The Turkish Football Federation announced Friday that it has parted ways with national team head coach Vincenzo Montella following Türkiye's World Cup exit and four consecutive UEFA Nations League defeats.
Montella's departure followed a disappointing run of results, with Türkiye eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage after losing two of their three matches.
The national team subsequently suffered four consecutive defeats in UEFA Nations League A, losing to France, Belgium and Italy twice.
The results marked Türkiye's first four-match losing streak in competitive fixtures in 38 years.
The 52-year-old Italian had been in charge of Türkiye since September 2023, when he succeeded Stefan Kuntz.
During his tenure, Montella guided the national team to the quarterfinals of UEFA Euro 2024 and qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In its statement, the federation also announced changes to its leadership, saying its Executive Committee would remain in office until the next ordinary general assembly, when elections would be held.
The federation did not announce a successor to Montella.
