Türkiye win against Belgium in Volleyball Women's Nations League

ANKARA  

Türkiye beat Belgium 3-1 in the 2022 Volleyball Women's Nations League on Sunday.

The Turkish national team won the Pool 2 match with sets of 15-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-15 to rank third in the preliminary phase.

Turkish opposite spiker Ebrar Karakurt racked up 22 points to play a key role for the win in Ankara.

Outside hitter Ilkin Aydin scored 13 points and middle blocker Zehra Gunes added 12 points for Türkiye.

Britt Herbots led Belgium, scoring 20 points.

Belgian opposite spiker Pauline Martin had 13 points for her nation.

Türkiye have a 3-1 win/loss record to be third in the standings led by China, who have the same performance as the Turkish team.

Belgium are 12th in the league. They won one match but lost three others.

In the next fixture, Türkiye will visit Brazil on June 16 as the Turkish team concluded week 1 in Pool 2 after beating Belgium.

The Pool 3 - Week 2 will be held in Brasilia.
