The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup tournament in Uganda was hosted by the Turkish flag carrier for a second time Saturday where the East African country participated in one of the world’s most prominent corporate amateur golf series.

The global corporate golf tournament brought together influential figures from across the country to the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.

Kivumbi Martin claimed the title and clinched a spot in the finals later this year at the Gloria Serenity Resort in Antalya.

Nice Janda and Dr. Drey finished runner-up and second runner-up, respectively. Jimmy Odongkara won the grand draw -- a Turkish Airlines ticket to visit any part of Türkiye.

Turkish Airlines manager in Uganda, Ali Özdemir, said Martin won a round-trip business class flight courtesy of Turkish Airlines, to travel in comfort and style to compete in the Grand Golf World Cup Finale in Antalya.

Gokce Esma Ercıktı, who represented the Turkish envoy to Uganda, commended Turkish Airlines for hosting the successful tournament, and added that sports have the power to promote unity and friendship.

The 2025 edition of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup includes 130 tournaments in 83 countries, bringing together more than 10,000 golfers.

Winners from each qualifying event will compete in the Grand Finals in Türkiye, enjoying the airline’s renowned business class hospitality en route.
