The Turkish authorities said Friday almost 200 injured civilians had been treated in Turkey following the evacuation of the Syrian city of Aleppo.
According to information released by Turkey’s Prime Ministry on Friday, 199 people -- including 80 children -- were taken from the opposition-held city of Idlib to ambulances at the Turkish border crossing of Cilvegozu.
Despite the best efforts of Turkish medics, 18 heavily injured people lost their lives.
Since the beginning of the evacuations, 81 patients were transferred to hospitals in other Turkish provinces. Twenty-eight have been discharged.
