Flags flew at half-mast on buildings across Turkey on Monday to mark a day of mourning for the victims of last week’s terror attack in Egypt.

The presidential palace, government ministries, state agencies and private businesses lowered the Turkish flag in respect for the 305 people killed by Daesh terrorists on Friday.

Diplomatic missions overseas also took part in the solemn tribute.

The prime minister’s office declared a national day of mourning two days after the attack on a mosque in Bir al-Abed, in the northern Sinai peninsula.

Although no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the deadliest in modern Egyptian history, it has been widely blamed on Daesh’s affiliate in Sinai.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and other senior officials have condemned the attack and offered their condolences to the Egyptian people.
