Turkey’s president is expected to visit Serbia this May or June, the Turkish ambassador in Belgrade told a meeting on bilateral education cooperation on Thursday.

“I'm sure the current cooperation is the best in the history of Serbian-Turkish relations and I'm sure there are many topics in the field of education on which both sides will agree,” said Ambassador Tanju Bilgic during a meeting of Turkish and Serbian education officials focused on the opening of a Turkish school in Belgrade.

"These are just the first steps in preparing for May or June, when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Serbia,” he told the meeting in the capital Belgrade.

Also speaking at the meeting, Serbian Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic said Serbia wants to improve its relations with Turkey in the field of education.
