5 PKK terror suspects detained in southeastern Turkey
Suspects accused of spreading PKK propaganda online, providing financial aid for terror group
BATMAN, Turkey
Security forces detained five people in southeastern Turkey for their alleged links to the PKK terror group, a local authority said on Wednesday.
According to a written statement by the Batman Governorship, the local gendarmerie arrested two suspects accused of providing financial aid and equipment for the PKK/KCK.
In another operation in the province, three more suspects were arrested for allegedly spreading PKK propaganda on social media.
During the operation, security forces seized a fake identity card, pieces of rag symbolizing the terror group, banned publications, and documents related to the organization.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
