Anadolu Agency's (AA) Kurdish broadcasting project draws great attention from the media institutions in the regional administration of northern Iraq.
Kemal Ozturk, the Anadolu Agency Executive Board Chairman and Director General, on Thursday said, "We would like to establish good communication with our brothers and sisters via our Kurdish broadcast."
Ozturk met on Tuesday with Nechirvan Barzani, prime minister of the regional administration in north of Iraq and provided information on Anadolu Agency's Kurdish wire service, and continued its contacts with media institutions and representatives of political parties in Irbil and Sulaymaniyah.
Ozturk met with senior level managers of PUK Media embodying four satellite TVs, two dailies and 14 radio channels alongside Rudaw, Spede TV, Payam TV, Kurdistan TV, Gali Kurdistan and KNN TV and exchanged views.
Stating that Anadolu Agency was carrying out a series of different projects to make AA an international Agency, Ozturk also emphasized Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was closely following the project.
"We take on the road by asking one question; who delivers the news to other languages when Mr. Barzani or Mr. Talabani makes a speech? Who delivers the statements of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the media in the region in the most accurate manner? We have observed that foreign agencies can deliver the news however, the statements can be distorted. Mr. Barzani has shared his problems in the related issue with us during our visit. We would like to establish good communication with our brothers and sisters via our Kurdish broadcast. This is why this project is being put into effect."
"We are all the children of the same empire"
Azad Jindiani, spokesperson for PUK political Bureau, stated that it was very meaningful for Anadolu Agency to initiate Kurdish wire service in two dialects and believed the project would contribute significantly to the media in the region.
"We are all the children of the same empire. Kurdish wire service of Anadolu Agency will establish a friendship bridge between Turkish and Kurdish peoples," Jindiani noted.
"We thank you twice for double dialect"
Kurdistan Nu TV Editor in Chief Satran Abdullah said, "We congratulate and thank you twice for double dialect," in regards to AA's Kurdish wire service in two dialects.
Editor in Chief of KNN TV Xusyar Abdullah said, "AA is a big agency. It has a great history and experience. Your broadcast will contribute to media in Iraq."
Editors in chief of SPEDA TV Aso Hamid and PEYAM TV Faruk Ali also welcomed the powerful agency of a Muslim state's decision to establish offices in regions and broadcast in Kurmanji and Sorani dialects.
Expressing his pleasure with Anadolu Agency establishing Kurdish wire service, senior level official of Rudaw ako Muhammed said, "The democratic steps taken in Turkey and the solution process changed many things in Turkey. Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is the most loved politician on the Kurdish street. The language of peace brought the people of two nations closer. AA will play a significant role in this process. We will be very pleased to see you here in Iraq."
Stating that Kurdish broadcast was a major step, Editor in Chief of Kurdistan TV Karvan Akrai said, "Erdogan is a very brave leader. He is a politician who has believed Turkey would continue its journey in unity with all nations. Anadolu Agency has made a decision worth of praise within this framework. We find these steps very positive in terms of the future of the region."
Levend Nevzad, Editor in Chief of Gali Kurdistan, also emphasized AA's experience would contribute greatly.
