Anadolu Agency (AA) Finance Editorial Desk hosted the chairman of the Turkish Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), Mukim Oztekin, as part of the live meetings of the finance desk on Thursday.
Oztekin assesses the latest developments in banking sector and the expectations for 2013 at the HQ of AA in Ankara.
He said the structure of the Turkish banking system was strong regarding the capital.
Oztekin said banks sending credit cards without demand would face heavy punishment.

Turkey one of most stable countries in world to which investments can be canalized
BRSA head has said that Turkey was one of the most stable countries in the world into which investments could be canalized.
Replying to a question, Oztekin said that several banks from the Middle East attached a great interest in Turkey, and banking officials from the region had talks with BRSA.
Turkey had a great potential in terms of growth and banking sector, he said.
Oztekin said he considered that the Turkish banking sector would keep growing in 2013 as well, stating that banks' profit margins could shrink this year.
AA to broadcast data of regulator of Turkish banks
AA and BRSA signed a protocol on broadcast of BRSA data by AA on Thursday.
Following the meeting, AA Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk and BRSA Chairman Oztekin signed the protocol.
Ozturk said AA signed agrement with many government finance agencies so far and plan to be the most important finance broadcasting platform in Turkey. He said AA aims to start a Middle East based finance impulse in 2013 and therefore the finance data that would be broadcast by AA was very important.
