ANKARA
Moroccan Minister in Charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, Lahbib Choubani on Thursday visited the headquarters of the Anadolu Agency (AA) in Ankara and received information on the agency.
Choubani became the guest of the AA Editor's Desk after being greeted by Executive Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk.
Speaking at the AA Editor's Desk, Choubani said that they held certain meetings during their visit to Turkey and saw that they could work to promote relations between the Turks and Moroccans.
"It is not possible to explain our love for the Turks with words. The cooperation between our peoples still lack certain things. We have not been able to turn our relations into full strength. We look at Turkey as a model during our transition period," Choubani noted.
"I have come to Turkey to develop a strategy. We make use of Turkey's political and democratic experiences," Choubani stressed.
"We believe that the media has an important role in reaching our aims," Choubani stated.
"AA's Director General Kemal Ozturk has assumed a crucial duty. Morocco is going through a transition period. AA's efforts to transmit news directly is crucial for us," Choubani also said.
-Number of news in Arabic to increase in future-
AA's Director General Kemal Ozturk, in his part, said that, during his visit to Morocco, they opened a bureau for the AA.
We cover all developments in Morocco in Arabic and Turkish languages as fast as possible, Ozturk indicated.
"Our aim is to have news edition services in 11 languages. Among those languages are Arabic and French. We have 100 news stories daily. If we do add Turkish translations, our Arabic edition services make around 150-200 news stories. Our news are not merely on Morocco and Turkey. We give news from all over the world, beginning with the Middle East. We will begin providing photographs and video services. In 2013, we will provide 200 photographs and around 70 videos on a daily basis. As of January 1, we will begin publishing news in the Middle East by subscription. Currently, our news can be accessed free of charge," Ozturk also said.
