ANKARA
The Anadolu Agency organized a ceremony for graduates of its New Generation Journalism Certificate program at its headquarters in Ankara on Friday.
Anadolu Agency Director General and Board Chairman Kemal Ozturk congratulated the graduates in his speech.
Highlighting the point that the Anadolu Agency has a global presence with a worldwide perspective, Ozturk said: "We are not an agency that solely broadcasts for Turkey. Therefore, we need to bring an international standard."
He said that such high standards could only be achieved through education. "The New Generation Journalism course is part of this effort," he added.
The Anadolu Agency’s News Academy trained 23 journalists in the program, which included courses on news writing, interview techniques, crisis management in media, corporate culture, camera and photography techniques, understanding of journalism and broadcasting principles.
"The agency is the stem cell of the Turkish media," Ozturk added.
The director general also handed over certificates to the graduates at the ceremony and wished them success in their careers.
The academy was established as part of AA's centennial goals for 2020.
The agency has organized numerous seminars and certificate programs over the past two-and-a-half years.
The academy also offers programs on the fundamentals of journalism, energy reporting and war correspondence among many other disciplines.
